Halloween 2016 Recap!

Halloween 2016 Recap!

Well we survived another year of an insane amount of energy, and a sugar rush that would put Willy Wonka to shame...all in the name of free candy and memories. This year we had Super Mario, a Cowgirl, and Bumblebee the Transformer!  Eli wins for funniest costume (which was a tad too small, #momfail...we just can't seem to get him to stop growing!), Olivia wins for cheapest and cutest (naturally), and Titus wins for being the coolest (he loved those muscles, if you can't tell). We took the kids over to their friends' house and enjoyed walking around with a dinosaur (T-Rex more specifically...we asked), Luke Skywalker (from episode 4...according to Eli this was an important disctinction), a Pirate Fairy, a police man and Spider man. Even some of the adults jumped in, with an appearance from Rey from Star Wars, and ANOTHER Luke Skywalker (albeit from episode 6), and even a little BB-8! We were quite the crew and had so much fun!

We got to relive our own memories of walking around neighborhoods, clutching pillow cases, and getting way too much candy! There were so many people out and about it really was a fantastic time, and we drove away thinking "Now that's what Halloween is SUPPOSED to be like!" We got to hang out with good friends, family, and a bunch of other weirdos in costumes just for fun! The only bad part of the night was getting locked out and someone (who will remain nameless) had to show off their Crossfit skills and bust down a door. Never fear though, that same individual also has some crazy good handy man skills and fixed the door in less than an hour.

We hope everyone else had a fantastically fun and safe Halloween like we did! We also decided that, because we had so much fun this year, we might just have to dress up ourselves next year! If you have any suggestions, let us know!

Fri-yay! Weekly Recap #17!

Fri-yay! Weekly Recap #17!

Happy pre-Halloween weekend! We aren't gonna lie...we kinda almost forgot Halloween this year. Mostly because well...parent mush brain? Does that work as an excuse?! If not, it does now so deal with it people! Thankfully, Walmart saved the day with a ridiculous assortment of licensed character costumes! Nothing says FUN! like dressing up in clothing made out of cheap plastic table cloth material for an hour or so and coming home with enough candy to send an elephant into a diabetic coma! We can't wait!

With Halloween comes Halloween parties at school! Megan (bravely) volunteered to help chaperone Olivia's First Grade Halloween Spooktacular. They had tons of fun playing games, doing Halloween word searches, and eating way too much sugar! It was an awesome time to get some "girl time" together, meet Olivia's school friends and teachers, and have a blast!

We also had Parent/Teacher conferences this week. Duh, duh, duuuuuh... (cue intense music). Ok they weren't that bad, but because this was our first time EVER doing them, we didn't really know what to expect. All we really knew about Parent/Teachers conferences is what we remembered as kids...which is basically these were a special time for parents and teachers to get together and conspire about how to make your elementary school life completely miserable for the remaining 6 months of the school year. You can understand our shock when, in actuality, this was NOT how these little meetings went. To our complete surprise, their teachers were totally normal, awesome people who love our kids and know all their little personality quirks ALREADY! We brought each of them a little package of Megan's (soon to be) World Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies because bribery never hurt anyone, right?! It was interesting to see the whole experience as a parent and we are proud to say, the kids are doing pretty awesome in school! However, we can't guarantee we didn't conspire just a little bit with their teachers to make their lives a little bit miserable. ;-) After all, that's part of any healthy childhood right?!

Finally, we had one of our first ever Premier Nights this week! We had so much fun with the Ward Family! It truly is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do when we get to sit down with a family and do their image reveal.  We really want this to be a special moment for each and every family we photograph. We love hearing their reactions, seeing the tears of joy, and helping them use their images to turn their house into a home! It really was a special time, and we are so glad they loved their photos...but we're even more glad that we got to hang out with them, get to know them, and help them celebrate their beautiful family! If you'd like more information about what we do, or what our Premier Night is all about, go ahead and contact us and we'd love to share our vision for photography, family, and how you can use your photographs to showcase your beautiful family!

Have a safe and happy Halloween weekend everyone! We'll catch y'all again on Monday!

Fri-yay!! Weekly Recap #14

Fri-yay!! Weekly Recap #14

What can we say about this week other than it's over and we're sorta glad? We survived sick kids and missed school, but the beginning of another month upon us! So we are saying, goodbye September! Hello October! Nothing against September, but usually by the time it rolls around, we're done with the heat and we're ready for cooler weather and fall family sessions! Not to mention Pumpkin Spice everything. Seriously pumpkin spice has like taken over the internet so we're jumping on the bandwagon y'all (insert James' frowny face here..."Ugh, pumpkin spice is gross")! We are so excited about these next two months. We can't wait to see so many new and old faces and hug all you beautiful people, of our friends told us this week that we aren't "huggers" so it's time to change the gameplan around here and practice our huggin' skills. We'll be ready for hugger prime time come January. You can count on it.

October means...COOLER WEATHER! Hallelujah!  This means breakfast and dinner outside and we are super excited about that! Last May we did a backyard refresh and since then its been hot so we haven't had a chance to really enjoy it. So now that it's nice outside its like we've come out of reverse hibernation! As much as we love swimming and summer, this weather has our hearts all aflutter and is so refreshing! No more vitamin D deficiency around here! Woot woot!

We took the plunge and sent out our first ever newsletter last week and we were blown away at the response! We truly appreciate the heck out of each and every one of our clients and we are so excited to be getting back into the crazy madness of the fall portrait season.

With that said, we have some good news and bad news...which do you want first?! Ok, bad news first. Like we said, we got such an overwhelming response from our last newsletter that our Mini Session dates are completely full! Crazy, right?! Within a week we completely booked all of our available mini session times! Did we mention how awesome our clients are? Sadly, we had to turn some of you away because we just didn't have anymore room!

Now for the good news! We seriously can't disappoint you all. We just love you too much. More than a few of you have asked if we were going to open up any more dates for mini sessions and who are we to say no?! You asked, so we delivered!

We have added just ONE last date for mini sessions to the calendar! This is it people! And we mean it this time! So if you need that extra special Christmas card family photo this year, you better hop to it and set up your mini session ASAP! All of our other mini session dates filled up within a week, so you can expect this final date to fill up in a couple days.

Our final date for mini sessions will be:

Seriously don't wait. These mini session spots won't last long.

And don't forget, if mini sessions aren't your thing, you can always book the super high-end, luxury, personalized, ultra-awesome, deluxe full session experience complete with a super fun Premier Night including cocktails and dessert! Check out our investment page for details!

Have a great weekend! We're off to soccer games, laundry, time with friends, and the start of fall sessions!
