So here it is! Another Friday! Which means another thrilling installment of our "Fri-yay! Weekly Recap!" We thought about titling this post series, "Spend 5 minutes reading what we've been up to for the last 7 days because everyone loves reading about other people on the internet!" but it didn't sound quite catchy enough. Aaaand, on that note...off we go!
Last Friday we geeked out a little bit and went to the birthday party of our friends' 8 year old son. Before you all freak out and call the authorities because two grown adults were crashing a child's birthday party, rest assured that we took our kids with us too. Most people don't really "geek out" while there are sixteen 8 year olds running around, but then again most 8 year olds we know don't get a mobile video game truck for their birthday! All the adults spent the first hour of the party trying to figure out what kind of genius invented this testament to modern entertainment. This thing was amazing! Even more amazing was the fact that it kept sixteen 8 and 9 year old boys QUIET and ENTERTAINED for a full two hours. If anyone out there has ever been around an 8 year old boy, they know that this was no small feat. Seriously. TWO. HOURS. This had to be some sort of record. Next time the Guinness Book of World Records is getting an invite. Not. Even. Kidding.
Sunday we spent the afternoon sliding down the "Largest Slip and Slide West of the Mississippi." This is of course an unofficial title since, for the second time in a week, we failed to call the Guinness Book to verify and recognize us for the world record. Fail. We headed over to some good friends' house again where the entire neighborhood comes out to slide down a slip and slide longer than Pinocchio's nose would be if he were running for President. The kids had so much fun and by the end of the evening they were all tuckered out. Fortunately, James decided not to utilize his mad slip and slide skills, mostly because we didn't want videos of the incident going viral on YouTube.
Tuesday night we decided to be adults and head out for a night on the town! We got invited to attend a local event put on by some awesome vendors from the event and wedding industry. It was great to get out, meet some new people, and hang out with old friends. We got to take a couple photos in the photo booth with some of our favorite clients (and Friends!) while we dressed as Batman and other superheroes. The problem was that after our photo booth session, James insisted on talking like BatDad the rest of the night. By the end of the night, Megan was asking for her mask back out of sheer embarrassment. All in all, it was a fun night out and we can't wait for next year to do it again!
Finally, in case you haven't heard, we are heading to San Diego in July! We will be there from the 13-17th and we'd love to do a few photo sessions while we're there. It's not everyday we get the opportunity take photos on a beautiful beach, so we want to make the most of it! If you're interested in a session in San Diego, send us a message! We have limited spots available and they are filling up fast!
Try and stay cool when it's 120 degrees this weekend! Have a safe and happy Father's Day! See you all next week (if we don't melt)!
